MAPLE DESSERT MIX
This is a new dessert mix that is already very popular. See our recipe for making a frosting on Apple Cake: APPLE SPICE CAKE: 1/2 cup butter softened 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups peeled and chopped apples(Granny Smith or Gala) 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder FROSTING Judi’s Judecraft Maple dessert mix 3/4 finely chopped walnut pieces DIRECTIONS Directions for cake- preheat 350 degrees: beat butter and brown sugar for five minutes in a mixer bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla just until blended. Set aside. In a separate bowl mix flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, allspice, salt. Gradually add sugar mixture to flour mixture a little at a time. Beat until well blended. Pour into 9? pan and bake 35-40 min or until toothpick clean. Cool on wire racks until cool. Directions for Frosting- prepare Judecraft Maple dessert mix according to package- add 1/2 finely chopped walnuts. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Reserve 1/4 cup of walnuts to sprinkle over frosted cake.
